Dr. Vince Ebert, SUNY Distinguished Teaching Professor Emeritus, died at the age of 86 on December 30, 2010. Dr. Ebert began his teaching career at UB in 1954 and founded the Geography Department in 1963.
The Charles H.V. Ebert Lecture Series & Scholar-in-Residence Program
The Geography Department has established the Charles H.V. Ebert Lecture Series and Scholar-in-Residence Program. A prominent scholar will be invited to give the annual lecture, and the Department will have the option of hosting the speaker over the course of a week for a series of other lectures and seminars. The goal is to facilitate interaction across disciplines and professions to promote interdisciplinary geographic research and teaching.
